Abstract
A new chiral phase-transfer catalyst (3S,4S)-1-benzyl-1-methyl.3,4-pyrrolidin-diol-onium iodide (2) synthesized, is found to be more active than the conventional tetraalkylammonium salts in alkylation reactionson active methylene compounds under usual solid-liquid phase-transfer conditions.
