Abstract
It is pointed out that, in the procedure given by Vaidyanathan and Mitra for obtaining a digital transfer function from its real part on the unit circle, forming the intermediate polynomials mi(z) and ni(z), from similarity with the corresponding analog problem, is an unnecessary complication, and that the scaling constant can be determined at the stage of determining the denominator polynomial itself. These points are illustrated by an example.
