Abstract

Species of Poropoea Förster, 1851, so far as is known, are exclusively parasitic in the eggs of attelabid beetles. The characteristic feature of these species is the presence of a long ovipositor, correlated with the need to reach the eggs of the host inside leaf-rolls. The biology and immature stages of Poropoea stollwerkii Förster and P. defilippii Silvestri were studied by Silvestri (1916). Singh and Baldev Parshad (1968) have given an account of another species, erroneously referred to Lathromeroides. Hirose (1963) described two new species of Poropoea from Japan.
