Abstract
The idea that earlier earthquakes may influence the occurrence of subsequent earthquakes in a region has been discussed in seismology time and again. We provide analytical evidence that the main Chamoli earthquake of 1999 in the Garhwal Himalaya may have influenced the occurrence of its aftershocks.
