Abstract
The annual variation of thermal efficiency of closed OTEC power cycle at some selected offshore sites along the Indian coast is presented. OTEC potentials at these sites have been evaluated in order to identify promising locations for exploration of OTEC power. It is shown that priority could be given to three locations for setting up experimental plants - the first one off Lakshadweep Islands, the second off Great Nicobar Island and the third off Krishnapatnam on the central east coast.
