Abstract

The demodulating compensator, of fairly recent origin, is quite useful in carrier control systems, especially because of its near immunity from the carrier frequency drift effects and its small sire, weight, cost, etc. In this paper a network capable of giving a second-order system is analysed by the simple method of series summation and the two versions of the basic circuit are discussed. For both the circuits which are capable of giving complex zeros, a simplified design procedure is given for synthesizing the circuit directly from the required pole-zero configuration. A numerical example is included to illustrate the application of design procedure and the experimental results by a transient response method to verify the basic assumptions are reported.
