Abstract
A critical review of the existing models of the neuron is given. These models, though not differing greatly in their terminal response, show considerable deviation from single-unit properties, A model for the ommatidium in the eye of the limulus is suggested. Also a four neuronal network that could explain the gait meehanism of a hypothetical quadruped is given.
