Abstract
Synthesis of tris-chelates of Rh(III) and Cr(III) derived from several triazene-1-oxides is described. The electronic spectra of the complexes are discussed. A typical Cr(III)-complex is characterised by the crystal field parameters: Dq = 1740 cm−1 and B = 508 cm−1. Proton resonance data unequivocally established the trans stereochemistry for the Rh(III) complexes. The sterically unfavorable cis form could not be synthesised.
