Reflection and reaction of SH waves at the plane boundary between two laterally and vertically hetrogeneous solids

Abstract

The problem of reflection and reaction of SH waves at the plane interface betwwen two isotropic heterogeneoues elastic media is discussed. The densities and rigities of the two media are supposed to vary both along the interface and perpendiculary to the interface. It is shown that, unlike for the homogeneous case, the reflection and coefficients for the modeI that assumed are frequency dependent. Variation of these coefficients as a function of the angle of incidence for laterally heterogeneous model is presented graphically.
