Abstract
Beckmann rearrangement of xanthone oxime and thermal cyclization of the sodium salt of ,N-(2'-chloro-benzbyl)-2-hydroxyaniline yield 10,11- dihydro-11-oxo-dibenzo[b, f-1,4]oxazepine. Similar syntheses are reported for dibenzo [b, f-1,4]thiazepine and dibenzo[b,e-l, 4] diazepine derivatives.
