Abstract

We study the dielectric relaxation in a hydrogen-bonded mixed ferro-and antiferro-electric crystal based on the mean field analysis of an king model (witb quenched disorder) in a transverse field. We compare our results with existing measurements on Rbl-x(NH4)xH2PO4. We find that strong quantum effects lead to unusual behaviour hitherto unobserved in experiments.
