Abstract
We present numerical results for the development of squeezing in one of the components of the field as a single mode coherent beam propagates through a resonant two photon absorber. Exact calculations lead to much higher squeezing than that predicted by short time calculations. Squeezing is found to persist over a range of the propagation distances.
