Abstract
An approximate analytical solution, which gives the distribution of flow variatles in terms of optical thickness from the embedded shock when P̅ < P̅∗ has been obtained. The jump in the flow variables across the embedded shock has also been obtained. Numerioal results are given for six sets of values of M and P̅.
