Abstract
A complex harmonic oscillator basis is proposed for the 3-body problem obeying S3 symmetry. Compared to a real basis, it generates a new quantum number Na apart from the total quantum number N. Several distinct SO(2,1) algebras are shown to emerge, and their uses indicated.
