Abstract
The structure and dynamics of the thermosphere are reviewed, including possible interactions between the thermosphere and the F-region of the ionosphere. Results are presented from photometric and interferometric observations of thermospheric dynamics. Developments in optical measurements of neutral temperature and winds in the thermosphere are outlined, including photometry and high-resolution Fabry-Perot spectrometry.
