Abstract

Proposes a concept that operant conditioning techniques, through manipulating the environmental contingencies of reinforcement, can attempt to establish general laws of behavior; but these laws are applicable only under certain conditions. The proposition regarding those conditions (e.g., ethogram, biogram homology) can be introduced through the study of ethology. A logical synthesis creates the best opportunity to establish a science of behavior.
