Abstract

We present in this paper a general scheme of data analysis for detecting gravitational waves from millisecond pulsars with resonant bar antennas. As a specific example, we have analysed the case for the nearest known millisecond pulsar PSR 0437-4715 and the resonant bar antenna at the University of Western Australia since the gravitational wave frequency of the pulsar coincides with the resonant frequency of the bar within a fraction of a Hertz. Lastly we give a Table of pulsars which in principle could be detected by the resonant bar antennas operating between frequencies 500Hz to 1300Hz.
