Abstract
The inverse problem in the theory of gravitational wave detection is solved with a network of three or four detectors in the same location for the case in which the gravitational-wave signal is a burst with arbitrary polarization. The tensorial and spinorial properties of the wave and detector are reviewed and the solutions for the direction and the two amplitudes of the wave burst are presented. The method uses the mathematical framework of Dhurandhar and Tinto (1988).
