Abstract

Analysis of the measured equivalent widths of Lyman band of H2 by Carruthers for the star ζ Per, gives n(H2)≈ 1021 cm-2. It appears that the density of H2 is larger than that of H in the direction of ζ Per. Calculation of the equivalent widths of the lines of the bands (C-X) of H2 and (B-X) and (C-X) of CO and HD reveal that they may be observable short-ward of 1150 Å .
