Abstract
It has been claimed that the brain remains the single most defiant piece of ignorance. For several millennia the brain was a matter of interest to only philosophers. No doubt physicians of the vintage of Charak and Susruta in India, and Hippocrates in Greece, among others, made interesting observations on diseases affecting it.
