Abstract
Some remarks on the classification of Mononchida have been given. A new species, Sporonchulus vagabundus is reported from India. It has 1.26-1.34 mm long body; 21-22 μ long, 12-14 μ wide buccal cavity, with 2-3 rows of irregularly arranged denticles on each vertical subventral walls; ovaries paired; oviduct with large glandular cells at proximal end; elongate-conoid, 53-58 μ long tail and terminal spinneret. Key to species of Sporonchulus is also provided. The species, Bathyodontus cylindricus Fielding, 1950; Bathyodontus mirus (Andrássy, 1956) and Oionchus obtusus Cobb, 1913 are recorded from India.
