Abstract
Contents of ATP and ADP per grain increased during grain development up to 21-35 d after anthesis (DAA). A sharp increase in AMP level was observed at 42 DAA. Of the four nicotinamide nucleotides, NAD was most abundant. Energy charge values were more than 0.7 during active grain filling stages and less than 0.6 when rate of starch deposition was low.
