Abstract

A study of Λ production has been made in the proton fragmentation region from K̅p interactions at 110 GeV/c. From a simultaneous fit to the missing mass distributions and the inclusive Λ production cross section with Ptab≥10 GeV/c, the intercept of the strange meson trajectory is determined to be ≃-0.15. The contribution of the Pomeron is found to be dominant at the KK̅ vertex in 110 GeV/c K̅p interactions. The charged multiplicities and moments from off-shell KK̅ interactions have been studied as a function of M2, the c.m. energy square of the virtual KK̅ system.
