Abstract
We consider an abelian Higgs model involving both the Maxwell and the Chern-Simons terms and show that this model admits self-dual charged vortices in the background of gravity provided the metric is of specific form. In particular the metric is nondiagonal, and has a constant positive curvature. On integrating the Killing equations for the metric we find that the group of isometry is SO(4).
