Abstract
Physicians use ECG as definitive indicators of the condition of the human heart. Interpreting the ECG is a matter of pattern recognition. Physicians all around the world use certain well defined rules and their own experience to diagnose a patient. The tedious job of pattern recognition can be done away with if a visualization tool is developed which can present the information contained inside the ECG in a manner which is well defined and easily recognizable. This paper presents the use of nonlinear dynamics in developing a newer and better way of interpreting the information contained in the ECG. We bring out the advantage of this new technique with the help of results which are both intriguing and informative. This paper introduces the heart and goes on to the algorithms and methods used to carry out the analysis. This would be very helpful in not only diagnosing a heart condition but also for prediction of the heart condition in future using data from the past and present.
