Abstract
The method for the preparation of flavones and flavonol ethers based on thermal cyclization of aroyl of o-hydroxyacetoarones has been extended to the synthesis of chromonol ethers. It is confirmed that this method involves a thermal Baker-Venkatarman transformation.
