Chalkones, condensation of aromatic aldehydes with resacetophenone - Part II

Abstract

In continuation of prevoious work, the direct synthesis of the corresponding polyhydroxychachlkones from resacetophenone and p- anisaldehyde or p-hydroxy benzaidehyde has been examined; the possibility of passing directly from such chalkones to flavones, flavanones, and flavonols has also been investingated, and modified methods for the preparation of pratol, resokaempferide, and liquiritigenin are described.
