Abstract
We study the properties of a system of coupled classical electronic spins, each of which interacts with a quantum nuclear spin via an isotropic hyperfine interaction. Results analogous to those of Mattis and Wolf are derived for the free energy and static correlation functions. Specializing to the case of a linear chain of Heisenberg electronic spins and classical nuclear spins, we calculate some second frequency moments. These exhibit interesting deviations from the uncoupled case and at T=0°K are interpreted in terms of spin-wave theory.
