Abstract

The transport equations for moving atoms in interaction with laser fields, are derived using the hamiltonian in terms of the quantum dynamical variables for the center of mass motion and by introducing suitably defined local density matrices. Use is also made of the phase space variables associated with the quantum dynamical variables of center of mass and the projection operator techniques.
