Abstract
Vanadium pentoxide, vanadyl chloride and ammonium metavanadate form H[VO(HSO4)4] when dissolved in disulphuric acid. This compound behaves as a non-electrolyte in the acid. At higher concentrations, there is indication of its polymerisation. Chromyl chloride, potassium chromate and dichromate form CrO2(HSO4)2 when dissolved in disulphuric acid. There is also indication of the polymerisation of CrO2(HSO4)2 at higher concentration.
