Abstract
In India, fast growing exotic tree species like Eucalyptus, Populus and Leucaena are the favourite tree components of agroforestry systems. However, several recent studies have indicated their depressive effects on the adjoining/associated crops. This paper reviews negative tree-crop interactions in agroforestry systems and highlights some suggestions to implement this practice in a sustainable way.
