Abstract
Significant advances made in the analysis and design of mufflers over the last four years are reviewed. Active, passive, reflective, and dissipative mufflers are discussed. While emphasis is on the frequency domain analysis, the time domain analysis is included. Applicability of the various contributions is highlighted.
