Abstract
Fifteen genotypes of potato were evaluated over four environments involving two locations and two sowing dates. Data were recorded for five characters and were analysed following two models of stability. Highly significant variances were observed among genotypes and environments. Genotype×environment interactions were significant for all the characters except for dry matter content(per 100g fresh tuber weight). Linear component of genotype×environment interactions were predominant for yield of seed size tubers, yield of oversize tubers and average tuber weight. Therefore, the performance of these characters can be reliably predicted. Based on mean performance for individual traits, stability parameters and the mean total yield for each genotype, the relatively superior genotypes are recommended for seed size tubers (JI-5857, Kufri Bahar and Kufri Chandramukhi); for commercial cultivation (JI-1857 and Kufri Jyoti) and for both seed size and commercial cultivation (Kufri Badshah).
