Abstract
C13H9F3N2O2, P21/n, a= 5.111(2), b = 15.330 (2), c = 15.479 (2) Å, β = 95.5 (3) °, Dm = 1.51 (flotation), Dc = 1. 55 Mg M-3, Z = 4. The three planar groupings in the molecule, i.e., the two six-membered ring and the carboxyl group, are nearly coplanar. In the crystal structure the molecules exist as hydeogen-bonded dimers. In addition, there is an intra-molecular hydrogen bond connecting the carboxyl group and the N atom which bridges the two six-membered rings.
