Abstract
Guarded measurements of the electrical conductivity of Y2O3---ZrO2 solid solutions were made on polycrystalline samples in the range 700°C to 1250°C under ambient oxygen pressure. The ionic contribution to the total conductivity as determined by the blocking electrode polarization technique was found to be negligible. The data tend to support an anion interstitial defect model determined on the basis of density measurements.
