Abstract
The propagation of a small but finite amplitude ion acoustic wave in the presence of a radio frequency (frequency below electron plasma frequency) electric field is investigated. The velocity, the amplitude and the width of the solitary wave are found to decrease with increasing intensity of the RF field.
