Abstract

In This paper an attempt is made to describe the general methods that have been developed to determine the physical conditions in stellar interiors. In view of the complexity of the problem, it is of value to consider, in the first instance, only those methods which involve the minimum of assumptions. Three such methods have been developed in recent years. They are I. The method of the integral theorems. II. The method of the homologous transformations. III. The method of stellar envelopes.
