Abstract

The structure of O2: 2'-cyclouridine is confirmed by an X-ray crystallographic examination of its 5'-deoxy-5'-iodo-derivative, prepared by the action of methanolic ammonia on 5'-deoxy-5'-iodo-2'-O-toluene-p-sulphonyluridine. Iodocyclouridine and O2: 2'-cyclouridine are related by conversion into 3-β-D-arabofuranosyluracil.
