Abstract

We report the results of magnetic susceptibility (5-300 K), d.c. electrical resistivity (2-300 K) and low-temperature heat capacity (2-25 K) measurements on the cubic compound UNi4In, which has the same crystal structure as UNi5. No evidence of antiferromagnetic ordering in UNi4In is found down to 2 K, in contrast with previous reports. This suggests that 5f-3d hybridization is still dominant in this compound as in UNi5.
