Abstract

Of the two closely related furanoid diterpenes isolated from the stem-bark of Croton oblongifolius, one is a new acid whose constitution has been established as ent-15,16-epoxy-3,11,13(16),14-clerodatetraen-19-oic acid and given the trivial name 11-dehydro (-)-hardwickic acid and the second has been identified as (-)-hardwickic acid by spectral and chemical methods.
