Abstract

Some conditions under which various intramolecular and intermolecular interactions responsible for spin relaxation in liquids can be approximated by an isotropic random field model are discussed. It is shown that under conditions normally used in experiments several mechanisms of relaxation can be approximated by this model. Whenever such an approximation is valid, the degree of correlation between the random fields produced at the sites of different spins is discussed.
