Abstract
The electrochemistry involved in an electroleaching process, developed to recover the lost Zn from industrial leach residues, was studied. Cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic studies were carried out to understand the mechanisms behind the electrode processes. The role of Eh measurements in monitoring such an electroleaching procedure is also brought out. Results of experiments conducted to understand the parameters affecting the electroleaching process are discussed.
