Abstract
In this review, a critical discussion of the available literature is made with special reference to the following aspects: i) Mechanisms of ball wear in the grinding of sulphide and non-sulphide ores. ii) Factors influencing grinding media wear. iii) The role of electrochemical interactions in increasing ball wear and influencing the flotation response of the ground minerals.
