Abstract
A new assay procedure for collagenase is presented. Highly radioactive substrate is prepared by methylation of native collagen. The 3H-labelled protein is readily attacked by bacterial as well as by mammalian collagenase and resistant to other proteinases. The sensitivity of this assay is higher than that of the enzymic methods hitherto available.
