Abstract
Highly practical and efficient synthesis of (2S,3R,4R,5S)-5-(tert-butyloxycarbonyl)amino- 2,3,4,6-tetrahydroxyhexanoyl-β-D-phenylalanine methyl ester was achieved using easily available Garner aldehyde and phenylglycine, which is an advanced intermediate for the synthesis of pyloricidins.
