Abstract

Perchloric acid adsorbed on silica gel efficiently catalyzed the condensation of o-phenylenediamines (OPDA) with cyclic and acyclic ketones at ambient temperature to afford 1,5-benzodiazepines in good yields under solvent-free conditions.
