Abstract
The diffuse reflectance laser flash photolysis experiments which elucidate the excited state behavior of a thiazine dye on the surfaces of SiO2, Al2O3 and TiO2 are described. The permanent degradation of the dye observed on the TiO2 surface has been explained on the basis of a direct electron-transfer quenching of excited states by TiO2.
