Abstract
It is shown that the White-Van Vleck crossover point of the 119Sn Knight shift in SmSn3 and 27Al Knight shift in SmAl2 is suppressed due to the mixing of the excited J states into the ground J state of Sm3+ ion by strong crystalline fields. Two crossover points may also occur in some samarium compounds.
