Abstract

Zero field resonance measurements have been made at 2.15 K on a polycrystalline sample of Rb2CuF4 The internal magnetic fields deduced from these measurements at Cu and F sites are very similar to those reported in the case of K2CuF4. These results have been explained in terms of the Khomskii and Kugel model of K2CuF4 which assumes a reorienting octahedron of fluorine ions around the Cu2+ ion. The results of our preliminary NMR studies of 87Rb and 19F in the paramagnetic state of this system are also reported.
