Abstract
New Re-based alloys have been prepared by introducing boron in already known alloys. In some of these alloys, Ce and Eu have been shown to undergo a variation in their valence state. EuPd3B exhibits an interesting behaviour, viz. a charge ordering similar to that in Eu3S4. CeRh3B2 and EuRh3B2 have been shown to order magnetically despite the fact that Ce is in mixed valence state and Eu is in trivalent (non-magnetic) state. Rh-d bands are presumably responsible for this behaviour. In EuNi2P2, Mössbauer resonance exhibits anomalous variation of the line width with temperature.
